Holiday Giving “Shop WIth A Cop”

I’m so thankful, that I got to be part of and enjoy one of the best events of the year last night. Thank you to Target, the Boston Police, UMASS Boston and The Transit Police Departments its officers and especially Boston Police Deputy Superintendent Gross. Because of this amazing collaboration, ten youth from our housing community where among the 171 youth that “shopped with a cop” last night. The evening started with a pizza party and visit from Santa at the Boston Police Post, followed by the youth boarding four transit busses with a police escort to the South Bay Target.

After meeting the command staff of the Boston Police, Transit Police and UMASS Boston police the kids proceeded to the rear of the store to be paired with an officer. Each youth had their own personal police officer to shop with.

All I can say, is Target didn’t need any lights on in the store last night because the light coming from the youth and officers filled the store. Happy Holiday’s my friends.
