We know “The Robert Gould Shaw and Massachusetts 54th Regiment Memorial, located across Beacon Street from the State House, serves as a reminder of the heavy cost paid by individuals and families during the Civil War. In particular, it serves as a memorial to the group of men who were among the first African Americans to fight in that war” However, have you ever looked behind the horse? Neither had I until last week. My day 59 photo for the 365 photo blog gives you my point of view of these beautiful men of glory. Hope you enjoy and feel free to share of the last day of Black History Month.
WOW! Thaddeus what a great photo. We have all seen it many times, walked by it many times, watched tourists stand next to it many times. Bur, your photo brings it straight to our times. Thx
